OLYMPIA MARTIAL ARTS

Child Program

Would you like to help your children...
Develop their confidence, discipline and dedication?
Stay physically healthy, fit and coordinated?
Help them make excellent new friends?
Learn how to handle bullies?
Do better in school and in life?

Parents do everything they can to help their children develop these important skills, but many are unaware of the most effective way to go about it. Busy schedules make it difficult for parents alone to spend adequate time teaching children these skills.

It is easy to assume that children will develop good behavior, confidence, perseverance and discipline in school. Unfortunately, school can only do so much in these areas. Even sports are not enough to give your kids the head start they need. Students at Olympia Martial Arts acquire these abilities and are exposed to good role models who show them how to succeed.

The mindset of a winner

A person builds mentality and confidence primarily during childhood. The rank system is created to give students short term goals that are difficult yet achievable. The instructors go out of their way to make sure their students are certain to reach their goals both at the studio and at school. They are encouraged to never use self-destructive language such as "I can't", "It's too hard" or "I could never do that".

Children Training "He likes the discipline, he likes learning new techniques and he likes attaining his goals, especially at the belt tests."
- Mrs. Stein, Parent

Exciting training

In order for children to reap the benefits of any physical activity, they need to train for an extended period of time. Martial Arts offers exciting material that keeps them interested every time they come in the studio to ensure their constant progress. They learn to dedicate themselves to their training and to other activities they participate in.

Higher standards of Physical and Mental performance

Every Olympia student takes pride in his or her martial arts skills because instructors set high but reachable standards. Students are constantly encouraged to perform at the peak of their abilities. Although living up to these expectations is often difficult, everyone has a true sense of accomplishment at the end of the class.

"We are really very happy with his training. At the beginning I was a little apprehensive about this new environment but he loves it! He is less fearful now and more willing to go forward."
- Mrs. Mehta, Parent

The Power of a Good Role Model

"What you are says so much that I can't hear what you are saying." Children try to emulate the people they look up to. Olympia instructors set the example by treating everyone with respect and being dedicated to everything they do. They show students how to be disciplined, focused and honest.

Children Training "His flexibility, strength and endurance have all improved. He is also in swimming, soccer and baseball and his training carries over to these activities."
- Mr. Wong, Parent

Fitness and Self-Defense

While students learn how to defend themselves, they develop excellent coordination and exercise habits. Their training includes detecting, assessing and addressing danger appropriately. The skills they acquire give them the confidence to easily avoid or deal with confrontation.

"I like karate because if a bad guy tries to steal me I can get out of it and go home."
- Ody Jones, Student Age 7

Unique Classes for Unique Students

Kids start karate at different ages and with different abilities. Some students need more confidence and prefer to learn at their own pace while others want to train as hard as possible and go through the belts fast. That is why every class has different focus and intensity.
